Mid to Senior DataOps Engineer/ Python/ AWS/ San Jose
This cutting-edge network security platform company is looking to bring on a Data engineer to their growing team. This company focuses on cyber-attacks while they are happening by delivering a new generation of threat detection by analyzing network traffic in real-time for anomaly detection. It automatically prioritizes attacks that pose the business risk, enabling organizations to quickly make decisions on where to focus their time and resources. They use next-generation computer architecture and combines data analytics and machine learning to detect attacks on every device, application, and operating system. This full-time role is located in San Jose and can pay up to $160,000 per year for their ideal engineer.
In this role, you would be responsible for building data pipelines. You would be working with data from customer devices, pushing it to AWS and Vectra’s own data storage. This role is heavy in Python, and Hadoop experience is plus! Approximately 30% of the work would be configuration and troubleshooting, however this position is very flexible, and can grow into more of a full data engineering role.
Required Skills & Experience
- BS/MS in computer science or related field
- Knowledge/ Desire to work with Python
- Strong experience building out data pipelines from scratch
- Proficient Database experience (MySQL, Cassandra, etc.) – MongoDB preferred
Desired Skills & Experience
- Networking fundamentals and knowledge is a plus
- Experience with Big Data (Hadoop, Spark) is a plus

- 70% Building data pipelines
