Computational Electromagnetics Developer (Multi-Physics)

A spin-off startup in Palo Alto is looking for a Computational Electromagnetics Developer to join their dynamic, entrepreneurial team of world-class engineers and scientists. They’ve created their own pay as you go subscription model that allow companies to maintain their own high-performance computing systems. This young company is growing fast with clients across the field of acoustics, ultrasounds, radio electronics, etc.

In this role you with be responsible for the following duties:

  • Create and identify state-of-the-art computational electromagnetics algorithms that extend their numerical solvers
  • Evaluate algorithms for current and future problem classes
  • Document efforts in technical reports, publish papers in peer-reviewed journals, and present results at conferences

Required Skills & Experience

  • PhD in Engineering with a focus on numerical analysis of electromagnetics applications
  • You’ve had experience developing solvers using different numerical methods (i.e. finite difference, finite element approaches, integral equations)
  • Extensive programming experience with one of more of the following languages: C++, C, Python, FORTRAN
  • You’re familiar with fundamentals of design for electromagnetic systems (this may include antennas, wave guides, and resonators)
  • You have knowledge of commercial multi-physics analysis software
  • You have knowledge of modern software development tools, techniques, and best practices

  • 70% Hands-on

  • 10% Documentation, presentation
